Jenna received her Masters in Kinesiology from Iowa State University in 2017. Her thesis investigated the bone stress and strain on the tibia in long distance runners before and after a volitional run to exhaustion. She then completed her PhD at the University of Maryland, College Park under Dr. Jae Kun Shim. Her dissertation investigated the influence of walking speed on individuals with a transfemoral amputation who use an osseointegrated prosthesis. Specifically, her dissertation investigated the interlimb differences during walking, as well as the long term health concerns to the bone of the residual limb with a simulated lifetime of osseointegrated prosthesis use.
