Join us for a lively discussion as we highlight device fabrication in developing and war-torn countries. How do you fabricate orthoses & prosthesis with access and funding limitations… or other barriers? What does this look like and how is it sustained? For example, prosthetic liners are expensive and wear out – how does a non-profit entity overcome this challenge in providing care? What alternative fabrication methods do you utilize?

As prosthetists and orthotists, we need fabrication solutions for places, situations, or even individuals challenged by limited resources. This could occur in a developing country, a worn-torn country or even in a normally wealthy country such as the U.S. for, what we call, “people who fall through the cracks.”
